Hang on to your hats (veils), there are some fun things headed your way for our monthly meetings. In April, Ricardo Diaz will talk with us about beekeeping in Honduras. Ricardo is studying beekeeping with Gary VanCleef for several months and we are lucky enough to have him coming to our club to share his stories with us.
After Ricardo’s talk, we will be breaking up into four groups, led by Gary VanCleef (Region 1 Apiary Inspector Supervisor); Ryan Willingham (Apiary Inspector); Aparna Gazula (Commercial Horticulture Agent at UF/IFAS Alachua County Extension Service), who will address questions about the Cottage Industry rules as well as general questions; and Cecilia and Will (Welsh Honey Judges), who will discuss the format for the June meeting honey judging show. At the groups you will be able to ask questions about your own hives or just those thing about bees that tickle your curiosity. Pictures of something in your hive that mystifies you are welcome. Wandering between groups (quietly) is A-ok.
